Pointers Take Advantage of Spartan Turnovers

The University of Dubuque football team turned the ball over twice in the opening half of play and that was all was needed for the UW-Stevens Point Pointers to gain momentum and end first half with a 28-7 lead. UD scored a touchdown in the third quarter on a 33 yard catch by Austin Morgan from Wyatt Hanus, but the Pointers would finish the night 55-14 over the Spartans.

The University of Dubuque volleyball team opened up their 2012 Iowa Conference season on the road at Loras College on Wednesday night. The Spartans lost the first set 18-25, trailed in the second set 3-10 before rallying back to tie the match. UD lost the second set 17-25 and the third set by a score a score of 16-25.

Spartans Lose Overtime Thriller to #21 UW-Whitewater

The University of Dubuque Men's Soccer team and #21 UW-Whitewater played a nearly even game, so much so that 90 minutes was not enough to decide the outcome. In the 97th minute, UW-W was able to finally break through on way to a 1-0 loss for the Spartans.

Battle of the Bridge Favors #23-ranked Pioneers

A renewed "Battle of the Bridge" for the University of Dubuque football team and the University of Wisconsin Platteville between the two border schools which began in 2005 returned in 2012 featuring sponsorship by Dairy Queen of Dubuque and Platteville. The Spartans fought a valiant effort on Saturday against #23-ranked Platteville, but fell short in the final outcome 52-35.
