Spartans Handed First Loss of the Season

WHITEWATER, WISCONSIN – The University of Dubuque Women’s Soccer team was on the losing end of a match for the first time this season after falling to UW-Whitewater 2-0 on Sunday afternoon. UD is now 2-1-1 on the season.
Leading the Spartans on offense was Kayla Vaughan (Phoenix, Ariz./Desert Vista) with five total shots and all three shots of goal for UD. Lisa Rosas (Arcadia, Calif./Arcadia) finished with three shots. The Spartans outshot UW-W 16-15 for the game including 13-9 in the second half.
Chelsea Hawkins (Maryville, Mo./Pattonville) recorded four saves in 90 minutes of action while allowing two goals.
UP NEXT: The Spartans will host #19 Augustana College (4-0) on Thursday, September 9th under the lights of Oyen Field at 7:00 pm.
