UD to Host 2013 Track & Field Coaches Clinic

The one day clinic will take place on Sunday, November 10, 2013 with registration beginning at 9:00 am. The first of the days four clinics begins at 9:45 am. Top college and high school coaches from throughout the midwest will speak throughout the day.

UD Track & Field Academy

Join the University of Dubuque Track & Field coaching staff, along with other area college and high school coaches for event specific training and development. The academy will be held at the state-of-the-art indoor track located inside the Chlapaty Recreation and Wellness Center. The three week academy is designed to provide the participant with a great experience, and prepare you for a successful track and field season. The academy begins on January 12th with registration beginning at 8:30 am.

Spartans Keep Dutch Winless in League Play

The Universty of Dubuque volleyball team captured the Iowa Conference match-up on Tuesday night on Jon Davison Court over the Central College Dutch by a 3-2 score (25-22, 12-25, 25-23, 25-27, 15-12). The two squads were a vision of balance, one team would surge, then the other would rally back. In the end it was the Spartans capturing the fifth set and match by a 15-12 score.

Volleyball at IIAC/NACC Challenge

The University of Dubuque Volleyball team took part in the inaugural Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference/Northern Athletic Collegiate Conference Challenge Series on Friday night and Saturday afternoon at the Just A Game Fieldhouse. UD began the weekend with a 3-1 loss to Lakeland College and a 3-0 loss to Dominican. The Spartans came back early Saturday morning with a 3-0 loss to Beneditine before finishing the weekend with a 3-1 loss to Edgewood.

Spartans Lose in Second Overtime

The University of Dubuque Women’s Soccer team went head-to-head with one of the nation’s top teams on Saturday afternoon at Oyen Field. The Spartans took #14 Loras to double overtime before losing 3-2. As the rain picked up in the second half, UD turned up the aggression on the offensive end of the field leading to two goals. Dubuque is now 7-2-0 overall and 0-1-0 in Iowa Conference action.

Men's Soccer Opens IIAC Action at Home

The University of Dubuque Men's Soccer team opened the 2013 Iowa Conference regular season with the defending champions on Saturday afternoon at Oyen Field. The Spartans have a good measuring stick in which to view the remainder of their season after a 2-0 loss to Loras, a national semifinalist in 2012. UD went toe-to-toe with Loras for the final 70 minutes after two Duhawk goals between the 15 and 19 minute mark of the first half.

The Spartans shot an opening weekend score of 393 at the 2013 IIAC Women's Golf Championships held at Pheasant Ridge Golf Course in Cedar Falls on Sept. 27-28. UD will continue play next weekend at Elmcrest in Cedar Rapids.

Women's Cross Country at Brissman/Lundeen Invite

The University of Dubuque Women's Cross Country team placed 19th of 33 teams at the 2013 Brissman/Lundeen Invitational hosted by Augustana College. The Spartans showed fresh legs after nearly two weeks of preperation. Brenda Nava was the top finisher for UD at 24:46.1, good for 93rd of 415 total runners.

Nevills Leads Spartans at Brissman/Lundeen

The University of Dubuque Men's Cross Country team finished 25th of 35 teams at the Brissman/Lundeen Invitational on Friday night. Sophomore Payton Nevills led the Spartans with a time of 26:51.0, the ninth fastest time in UD history at 8,000 meters. Nevills took 80th of 491 total runners.

The University of Dubuque men's golf team continues their fall schedule domination on Wednesday afternoon by winning the 2013 Elmhurst Men's Golf Fall Invitational held at Oakbrook Country Club with a team score of 285, a three stroke under par finish. The three under par is the lowest round the team has completed this school year.

The University of Dubuque Women's Soccer team picked up their seventh victory of the year on Wednesday afternoon. After suffering its first loss of the season on Saturday, the Spartans rebounded with a 3-1 win at Monmouth College (5-3-0). Dubuque held the Scots to zero shots on goal in the second half. UD is now 7-1-0 on the year.

The University of Dubuque Women’s Soccer team remained sixth in the latest NSCAA/Continental Tire NCAA Division III North Region Poll. The Spartans received votes in the D3soccer.com Top 25 for the third straight week. Dubuque is 6-1-0 on the year including a 5-0 record at home.

Men's Soccer Loses One Goal Game

he University of Dubuque Men's Soccer team once again found itself in another tight game on Tuesday night. The Spartans 2-1 loss to Macalester was the third straight one goal loss for UD. Five of the six UD losses this season have come by one goal. Dubuque is now 1-6-1 on the year.

Spartans Dominate 2013 UD Fall Invite

The University of Dubuque dominated their own fall invitational this weekend, claiming the title by 27 strokes over second place. The Spartans first day 284 team total set a school record on the opening day and they finished the final day with the lowest two day team score (36 holes) in school history, a 576.
