Care and Support
TALK TO SOMEONE!
We, the Campus Ministry staff leadership at UD, would love to meet with you. No matter the topic, we are eager to hear what is on your mind as a student here. It could be anything from relationships, sadness, doubt, anger, forgiveness, sin, to simply wanting encouragement . . . and any else in between. No matter what it is or what you are facing, we too often fall for the lie that we are the only ones who feel that way or struggle. The first step is to know that you are not alone and to talk to someone.
If you would like to set up an appointment to talk, please email us at UDMinistry@dbq.edu so that we can find a time to meet. If you are in need to talk to someone immediately, contact the Smeltzer-Kelly Student Health Center, and there are many off-campus resources with phone numbers you can call for help right away.
Being Supported at UD
The first step in experiencing support and care on a regular basis is to experience genuine fellowship and friendship. That is all the more reason to get involved in Campus Ministry. In worship, we are reminded of the truth and love of God. In fellowship, we can know one another in ways that allow for encouragement, growth, and maturity. All of us will experience times of doubts, suffering, or struggles. But it is our time in Christian community with others that helps prepare us for such times, and during such times, community reminds us that we are not alone.
Beyond Campus Ministry
Besides meeting with Campus Ministry leadership, brain health and counseling services are provided at the Smeltzer-Kelly Student Health Center, and Health Center staff can make referrals off campus. If you are living on campus, the Residence Life staff within the Office of Student Life is here to help, so be in contact with your Resident Advisor and your Hall Director. For academics, get the help you need from the Academic Success Center.
Off-campus services include resources on sexual health from the Clarity Clinic and for abuse & sexual assault from the Riverview Center, including a 24-hour crisis line.
