Health Insurance: The University of Dubuque does not require proof of health insurance for enrolled students with the exception of international students and student-athletes. However, it is highly recommended that all enrolled students have health insurance coverage either through their family's medical plan or some privately purchased health insurance plan. All international students must purchase University-approved health insurance with repatriation and medical evacuation coverage. All students planning to participate in intercollegiate athletics at the University must provide proof of health insurance.
If you do not have health insurance and are interested in obtaining health insurance, please contact the Student Health Center.
Charges: Visits to the Student Health Center are FREE to students. Tests performed at an outside medical facility, such as lab or x-ray, and visits to the Urgent Care and Emergency Department are the responsibility of the student. Charges will be filed with the student's insurance plan.
Students requiring medical care outside of SKSHC hours, should seek care at one of the local urgent care centers or emergency departments.
All students must show their UD student ID to obtain service at the SKSHC and must currently be enrolled.
