Student Award Winners Named in the 2025 "The Edge Show"

DUBUQUE, Iowa - The University of Dubuque's Department of Digital Art and Design recognized the student artists who received awards for their work in the 2025 "The Edge Show" during a reception on Thursday, March 27, 2025, in the Bisignano Art Gallery, Heritage Center.

2025 "THE EDGE SHOW" AWARD WINNERS:

Best of Show
Peyton Metzger, a senior digital art and design major from Clinton, Iowa - Lost in Paradise

First Place
Elaina Marburger, a junior digital art and design major from Dubuque, Iowa - The Eyes of India

Second Place
Ella Fessler, a first-year digital art and design major from Dubuque, Iowa - Matthew 17:24-27

Third Place
Brett Shrake, a senior digital art and design major from Moline, Illinois - 2725

Honorable Mention
Katelyn Vorwald, a senior digital art and design major from Dubuque, Iowa - Skater's Paradise

"The Edge Show" is an annual fine art exhibit in which students in the Department of Digital Art and Design step away from the classroom's client-driven projects to create individual artwork. The exhibit is on display Monday, March 24, 2025, through Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at the art gallery, 2255 Bennett Street. The show is free and open to the public.

Approximately 30 student artworks are on display. The digital images and illustrations include digital paintings, graphic illustrations, imagined landscapes, contemporary icons, expressive portraits, and abstract expressions.

Gallery hours are noon to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. The art gallery is also open in conjunction with all major events in John and Alice Butler Hall, Heritage Center.
