Music of Friends and Friendships to be Highlighted at "In Meeting We Are Blessed"

DUBUQUE, Iowa - The University of Dubuque's Department of Fine and Performing Arts and Northeast Iowa School of Music will present "In Meeting We Are Blessed" on campus at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, April 5, 2025, in John and Alice Butler Hall, Heritage Center.

"In Meeting We Are Blessed" will feature the UD Concert Choir, UD Chamber Singers, and Dubuque Community String Orchestra with the UD String Ensemble.
The spring concert will highlight the music of friends and friendships as the ensembles present a variety of music styles - including classical, folk, and pop - by composers Orlando Gibbons, Dwight Gustafson, Morten Lauridsen, Elaine Hagenberg, Alice Parker, and others.
"In Meeting We Are Blessed" will be under the direction of Kristen Eby, MM, head of the Department of Fine and Performing Arts, director of choral activities, and assistant professor of music at UD, as well as Tracey Rush, MM, adjunct instructor at UD, director of the UD String Ensemble, founder of the Dubuque Community String Orchestra, and founder and former executive director of the Northeast Iowa School of Music. The spring concert will be accompanied by Jill Klinebriel, an adjunct instructor at UD.
"This concert honors those special people we have been honored to call friends. I hope those coming will bring such a friend and share this time together with us," Rush said.
"In Meeting We Are Blessed" is free and open to the public. No ticket is required.
