By University Relations Staff
Spartans of UD highlights what makes the University of Dubuque special - the people.
Lindsay Mozena (C'05) is the founder of Lindsay Mozena Real Estate (formerly Vista Group) in Gilbert, Arizona. She is a Guild Elite Designated Luxury Home specialist, a distinction recognizing the best of the best in the multi-million market. A real estate and lifestyle expert, Lindsay is one of the next hosts of The American Dream TV, an Emmy-nominated show centered around real estate, lifestyle, and culture. She has committed to six segments over the course of the next year, with the first segment airing in April. The American Dream TV is available on Amazon Prime Video, YouTube Movies & TV, Tubi, Amazon Fire, Apple TV, Roku, and Binge.
As an undergraduate student, Lindsay was a biology major, involved with the Student Government Association and Teacher Education Student Organization, a student ambassador, and a member of the softball, women's golf, and women's soccer teams.
After being a solo agent for a couple years, you started Vista Group in 2017, which evolved into Lindsay Mozena Real Estate this year. Where did the vision for your company that handles land, development, residential, and commercial services come from?
"I have been very grounded in my values and the early years of my career I started teaching others how to find theirs. My core values are love, helping others, respect, personal growth, and adventure. My why is my guiding light daily which is 'to be a beacon and a lighthouse for others.' When I established my vision for my company as a referral-based business, I wanted to integrate who I am into the core vision. Over the past 10 years I've held the same vision: 'To create a multi-level business that allows me to pursue my passions in helping and healing others and allows me to have a positive and life altering affect on everyone I come into contact with. I will own a real estate business, coaching business, and will be a beacon of light and love for everyone who comes into my life.' Being able to expand my services into land and commercial has been a huge adventure, and I am grateful to offer a personalized full-service real estate experience to my clients."
What do you enjoy most about navigating property purchases and helping to turn your clients' dreams into reality?
"The purchasing or sale process can be a rollercoaster but my favorite part is the negotiations. Helping achieve a win-win situation and strategizing through challenging situations is what fuels me."
How have you prepared for filming The American Dream TV?
"Great question! I have lived in Arizona now for 20 years this July, and I sat down and wrote a list of all of my favorite experiences, places, and neighborhoods. As an outdoorswoman, adventure nut, health coach, and mom of two boys, I have a unique view of the valley and I'm looking forward to sharing my favorite places off the beaten path with the world."
What do you hope to share with people about the valley?
"There are so many hidden treasures about Arizona. People come for the large events like Spring Training, but the hidden gems are the ones that us locals frequent. I'm hoping they can see the valley not just as a place to party and visit, but as a place to live your best life."
What is your favorite memory from your time as a student?
"My time as a student ambassador. The University of Dubuque had been through a significant transition when I started my freshman year and by the time I graduated, it was an entirely new place. Being able to watch it revive and grow along with meeting the many amazing future Spartans is something I cherish to this day."
In your opinion, what makes the University of Dubuque unique?
"UD has so many unique offerings from state-of-the-art facilities to athletic and educational programs. Yet it is the small feeling of home that truly makes it feel unique. A university where you not only go to get an education, but to make memories and friendships to last a lifetime. It isn't very often you get the best of both worlds, and President Bullock and the many donors over the years built it to be one of the best things about the Midwest."
