Archway Reading and Lecture Series to Host Nicholas Gulig

DUBUQUE, Iowa - The Archway Reading and Lecture Series at the University of Dubuque will host a poetry reading by author Nicholas Gulig, PhD, at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 12, 2025, in the Multicultural Student Center at the Peter and Susan Smith Welcome Center on campus.

The event is free and open to the public. It will include a question-and-answer session with Gulig.

A Thai-American poet from Eau Claire, Wisconsin, Gulig was the 2023-2024 Wisconsin Poet Laureate. He is the author of The Other Altar (Center for Literary Publishing, 2024), Orient (CSU Poetry Center, 2018), North of Order (YesYes Books, 2015), and more. Additionally, Gulig has received numerous accolades for his work including the CSU 2017 Open Book Poetry Award, the Wisconsin Peoples & Ideas Poetry Prize, the Grist ProForma Prize, the Black Warrior Review Poetry Prize, the Ruskin Arts Club Award, and the CutBank Prose Poetry Award.

Gulig is an associate professor at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater in Whitewater, Wisconsin. He lives in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin, with his wife and two daughters.

The Archway Reading and Lecture Series is presented by the Office of Academic Affairs and Department of English at UD.
