Cassat Hall

2021 Cassat Hall

Cassat is one of the three residence halls on campus for first-year students. It is located near the Chlapaty Recreation and Wellness Center, the football and softball field. It is co-ed, with one floor dedicated to women and three floors dedicated to men.

Cassat Hall, built in 1968, is named for David B. Cassat, a successful C.E.O. of Interstate Finance Corporation and active Presbyterian lay leader. He served on the University of Dubuque Board of Directors from 1936-1982 and was Board Chairman from 1965-1967.

Douglas Donnell and David Cassat were close friends, so the proximity of the Cassat and Donnell buildings is appropriate. The interior of both residence halls underwent major renovations in the summer of 2003.
