In addition to our academic programs, the department has a rich tradition of ensembles that are open to all university students, regardless of major. Academic credit is available for participation in performance ensembles.

ENSEMBLES

Membership is open to all students regardless of major, and university-owned instruments are available for use. Students may enroll in one or more bands during the fall semester, spring semester, or both.

String Ensemble
The UD String Ensemble is an opportunity for string players to learn and perform a variety of repertoire in a fun and supportive environment. No audition necessary.

String ensemble is a one-credit hour ensemble and meets in the fall and spring semesters on Mondays from 6:45 - 8:00 p.m. in Heritage Center's Aitchison-Welch Choral Rehearsal Room.


MUSIC PARTICIPATION SCHOLARSHIP

Incoming students who will participate in one or more music ensembles at the University of Dubuque are invited to apply for a music participation scholarship which is renewable for up to four years if they remain enrolled in one or music ensembles each semester.
