For the Cybersecurity program, students take computer, criminal justice, forensics, and security to gain technical skills in system/network protection and in forensic analysis. Upon completion of the Cybersecurity major, students will be able to:

  • Demonstrate the skills to analyze and write clear, concise, and well-documented applications using standard programming techniques.
  • Acquire technical competencies in the use of hardware and software associated with computing devices and network/communication systems.
  • Detect and analyze security risks, develop protection strategies, and utilize tools and techniques for preventing and correcting attacks on networked systems and networks.
  • Analyze a problem and identify and define the computing requirements appropriate to its solution in order to implement and execute an effective, standards-based information technology project.
  • Apply and communicate computer technology concepts and employ appropriate techniques related to information systems in a wide array of organizations.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the professional, ethical, and social responsibilities of the discipline.
