Curriculum Requirements

All bachelor's degrees require a minimum of 120 credit hours, inclusive of UD general education and major requirements and any elective courses.

The Marketing major consists of 57 credits as follows:

Required Business Core Competencies (33 credits):

  • ECON 101: Principles of Microeconomics (3)
  • ECON 102: Principles of Macroeconomics (3)
  • BAC 201: Principles of Management (3)
  • BAC 241: Principles of Financial Accounting (3)
  • BAC 242: Principles of Managerial Accounting (3)
  • BAC 280: Principles of Marketing (3)
  • BAC 300: Principles of Finance (3)
  • BAC 340: Effective Communication in Business (3)
  • BAC 421: Business Law (3)
  • BAC 475: Administrative Policy Seminar/Capstone (3)
  • BAC 485: Internship (3)

Required Marketing Courses (24 credits):

  • BAC 308: Advertising (3)
  • BAC 309: Principles of Selling (3)
  • BAC 311: Internet Marketing (3)
  • BAC 338: Marketing Research (3)
  • BAC 339: Consumer Behavior (3)
  • BAC 408: Marketing Management (3)

Note: Students wishing to pursue a double major should consult their academic advisor regarding course planning and unique-course requirements.


Marketing Minor: consists of 21 credits including 15 credits of required courses and 6 credits of business elective credits as follows:

  • BAC 338: Marketing Research (3)

Students pursuing minors should consult with their advisor to ensure courses are selected appropriately.

Note: Students with majors within the Division of Communication, Design, Marketing, and Sport Management cannot declare a business minor. No student, regardless of division, can declare more than two minors.
