Business Curriculum
Curriculum Requirements
All bachelor's degrees require a minimum of 120 credit hours, inclusive of UD general education and major requirements and any elective courses.
The Business major consists of 57 credits as follows:
Business Core Competencies (33 credits):
- ECON 101: Principles of Microeconomics (3)
- ECON 102: Principles of Macroeconomics (3)
- BAC 201: Principles of Management (3)
- BAC 241: Principles of Financial Accounting (3)
- BAC 242: Principles of Managerial Accounting (3)
- BAC 280: Principles of Marketing (3)
- BAC 300: Principles of Finance (3)
- BAC 340: Effective Communication in Business (3)
- BAC 421: Business Law (3)
- BAC 475: Administrative Policy Seminar/Capstone (3)
- BAC 485: Internship (3)
Required Business Courses (24 credits):
- BAC 262: Personal Financial Stewardship (3)
- BAC 304: Human Resource Management (3)
- BAC 309: Principles of Selling (3)
- BAC 324: Leadership and Motivation (3)
- BAC 332: Negotiation and Conflict Resolution (3)
- *Nine business elective credits (as approved by the advisor) (9)

- BAC 252: Enactus (if paired with two of the following: BAC 252 (take three times), BAC 447, PRF 201, CIS 162, and CIS 164) (3)
- Any 300 level and above BAC course
MATH 230-Introduction to Statistics is also highly recommended.
While not required, the following courses are highly encouraged for students pursuing majors in Accounting, Business, Human Resource Management, and Marketing:
- BAC 100: Introduction to Business (1)
- CIS 162: Fundamentals of Excel (1)
- PRF 201: Career Development Strategies: Thinking Beyond College (1)
Note: Students wishing to pursue a double major should consult their academic advisor regarding course planning and unique-course requirements.
Business Minor: consists of 21 credits including 12 credits of required courses and 9 credits of business elective credits as follows:
Required courses:
- ECON 102: Principles of Macroeconomics (3)
- BAC 201: Principles of Management (3)
- BAC 241: Principles of Financial Accounting (3)
- BAC 280: Principles of Marketing (3)
- Business elective credits (9)
Students pursuing minors should consult with their advisor to ensure courses are selected appropriately.
Note: Students with majors within the Division of Accounting, Business, and Economics cannot declare a Business minor. No student, regardless of division , can declare more than two minors.
