09/19/2024: TRIO-Student Support Services Advisor II

The University of Dubuque is a growing faith-based University that is seeking a TRIO-Student Support Services Advisor II. This federally-funded program at UD serves 140 students who are first-generation, low income, and/or students with a disability by providing holistic support and development opportunities to participants. This is a grant funded full-time, 11-month position funded through August of 2025 with the opportunity for continued employment pending the grant being re-awarded for another five years.

Position Summary

The TRIO-SSS Advisor II is responsible for maintaining a caseload of 50-60 TRIO-SSS participants. They will provide academic, financial, career, personal, and graduate school counseling to assigned advisees.

This Advisor will also concentrate on the assessment functions of project services and participants in order to coordinate support as needed to increase participant engagement, persistence, and degree completion.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a case load of 50-60 TRIO participants each academic year by providing academic, career, financial, and personal advising and support
  • Facilitate support, goal-setting, and personal growth opportunities for SSS program participants
  • Concentrate on the assessment functions of project services and participants in order to coordinate support as needed to increase participant engagement, persistence, and degree completion
  • Compile detailed records (will involve the creation and maintenance of confidential, separate file folders for each SSS participant that will include SSS-eligibility data).

  • Perform extensive data entry regarding SSS participants, and maintain detail-oriented records and reports for the SSS Program Director which are critical for SSS grant reporting
  • Support the process of recruitment, identification, and placement of eligible participants
  • Maintain knowledge of TRIO legislation and regulations and attend professional development trainings as assigned
  • Encourage student participation in SSS workshops, events, and College 101 academic skill development lessons.
  • Prioritize effective interpersonal relations and work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and other departments across campus on behalf of SSS participants
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of the University's Mission

Position Skills and Abilities:

  • Must work well as a member of a team and have experience in team-related settings
  • Experience working with students in one-on-one, small, and large group settings

The University of Dubuque is a growing faith based University that is seeking applicants for the position of Certified Flight Instructors.

We have full-time and part-time opportunities. Full-time Flight Instructors are salaried employees and receive a base pay with hourly incentive and are eligible for benefits including tuition remission, paid holidays, vacation and sick time, and a retirement match.

Requirements for Fixed-Wing:
  • Bachelor's degree - preferably in Aviation
  • CFII is required
  • CFIME 500 hours total time and/or 100 hours dual are preferred

  • 2nd class Medical
