Travel to Ireland with 'Donegal Days: Recent Photographs by Noah Bullock'

By University Relations Staff

DUBUQUE, Iowa - Noah Bullock (C'21), coordinator of the University of Dubuque's Bisignano Art Gallery, fell in love with Donegal, Ireland - a place he considers home.

Forty images taken in the county located in Ireland's remote northwest will be on display in "Donegal Days: Recent Photographs by Noah Bullock" from Monday, March 4, 2024, through Friday, March 29, 2024, at the art gallery inside Heritage Center, 2255 Bennett Street.

The exhibit is free and open to the public.

"I have grown to love the people in Donegal and earned their friendship over the years," Bullock said.

A free pre-show reception for "Donegal Days: Recent Photographs by Noah Bullock" will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, March 22, 2024, in the art gallery. The reception will take place in conjunction with the performance of Godspell by UD's Department of Fine and Performing Arts, which will begin at 7:30 p.m. in John and Alice Butler Hall, Heritage Center. For more information or to purchase tickets to Godspell, visit www.dbq.edu/HeritageCenter.

"I can only imagine the considerable number of photos that Noah took of each image in this show, only to examine and reduce those multiples to the one, unique essence, so that the story dominates," said Alan Garfield, director of the art gallery and professor emeritus at UD.

Gallery hours are noon to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. The art gallery is open in conjunction with all major events in John and Alice Butler Hall, Heritage Center.

"Donegal Days: Recent Photographs by Noah Bullock" will also available virtually at http://gallery.dbq.edu.
