Neil Diamond's Timeless Music to be Celebrated at Heritage Center

DUBUQUE, Iowa - Matt Vee along with his cousins Jeff and Tommy Vee, sons of the legendary Bobby Vee, will join forces with their family and friends as The Killer Vees to celebrate music from Neil Diamond's timeless catalog at the 10th annual Live at Heritage Center Performing Arts Series. The performance, Matt Vee's Music of Neil Diamond: I Am... He Said will be held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, October 4, 2022, in John and Alice Butler Hall, Heritage Center on the University of Dubuque campus.

Ticket prices increase by $5 at midnight the day of the event.

"We are saying what HE said," Matt Vee said in a statement, referring to the one and only Neil Diamond. Songs like "Cracklin' Rosie," "Song Sung Blue," and "Sweet Caroline" helped Neil Diamond sell over 100 million records worldwide. His music became the soundtrack to one generation after another with hits spanning five decades.

"This is not a tribute show," Tommy Vee said in a statement, "This is a celebration of an amazing musical icon, one we all love and respect."

Members of the Killer Vees have recorded or performed with Bobby Vee, Sir Paul McCartney, Sir Tim Rice, Ronnie Wood, Mick Taylor, The Brian Setzer Orchestra, Little Richard, Jerry Lee Lewis, Fabian, The Shirelles, The Chiffons, Brian Hyland, Johnny Tillotson, Nelson, Peter Noone, Bill Medley, The Johnny Holm Band, GB Leighton, and many others.

Joining The Killer Vees will be Matt's wife Julie Velline on vocals, Tommy's son Bennett Vee on lead guitar, and veteran Minnesota musicians Mark Levandowski, Dennis Kennedy, and Dr. Frank Plachecki as well as a very special surprise for the finale.

Members of the UD Concert Choir and Julien Chamber Choir will join Matt Vee's Music of Neil Diamond: I Am... He Said as special guests.
