Over 100 band students from 27 high schools in Iowa, South Carolina, and Wisconsin will participate in the University of Dubuque High School Honor Band on Friday, January 17, 2025. Hosted by UD's Department of Fine and Performing Arts, the all-day event will culminate with a free High School Honor Band Concert at 7:00 p.m. in John and Alice Butler Hall, Heritage Center.

The University of Dubuque High School Honor Band is an annual event held since 2020 for 100 talented high school musicians. It is an opportunity for band students in grades 9 through 12 to spend the day making music with UD's band faculty, Nolan Hauta, DMA, director of concert bands and associate professor of music, and Evan Glickman, DMA, director of jazz and athletic bands and assistant professor of music.

Students will participate in a full day of rehearsals, receive a campus tour, and enjoy a complimentary lunch. The event will end with an evening concert. Hauta will be the conductor of the High School Honor Band Concert with Glickman the guest conductor.
