Archway Reading and Lecture Series to Host Sarah Cypher
The Archway Reading and Lecture Series at the University of Dubuque will kick off fall semester with a reading by freelance book editor and author Sarah Cypher, MFA, at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, October 12, 2023, in the Multicultural Student Center within the Peter and Susan Smith Welcome Center on campus.
The event is free and open to the public. It will include a brief Q&A with Cypher.
Cypher is the author of The Skin and Its Girl. She holds a master of fine arts from the Program for Writers at Warren Wilson College in Swannanoa, North Carolina, where she was a Rona Jaffe Graduate Creative Writing Fellow in Fiction. Cypher has a bachelor of arts from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Her writing has appeared in The Washington Post, Lit Hub, Electric Literature, New Ohio Review, North American Review, and others. She has been a resident at the Headlands Center for the Arts in Sausalito, California, and Vermont Studio Center in Johnson, Vermont.
Cypher grew up in a Lebanese Christian family near Pittsburgh and lives in Washington, D.C., with her wife.
