Ranfer Hernandez paced the Spartans with a 12-9 singles record in the No. 4 spot while Jordan Hamling earned an 11-9 posting out of the No. 5/6 slot. Gospodinov, the only senior, finished 9-11 as the No. 3 player.
Leading the charge in doubles play was the pairing of No. 1 and No. 2 players, Richard Rhinehart and Matthew Sablay, respectively. The duo finished with a team-best 5-13 record, including 3-4 in IIAC play. No. 3 Gospodinov and No. 4 Hernandez earned a 4-6 record, 2-2 during the IIAC slate. The Spartans dropped their IIAC team tournament opener, 5-1, to Wartburg on May 1 after coming in with a 3-2 record over their final five regular-season matches. Hamling and Zebulon Hill took home the lone victory, 8-5, out of the No. 3 doubles spot.
UD had previously defeated Simpson, 7-2, Buena Vista, 7-2, and Loras, 8-1 in their final three wins.
