This scholarship is for incoming students who will participate in theatre at the University of Dubuque, regardless of major. Students may receive a University of Dubuque Theatre Participation Scholarship for up to four years if they meet the minimum participation requirements. Participation requirements are flexible and inclusive of all areas of theatre (performance*, technical, crew work, etc.) and theatrically-related projects.

To be considered for a theatre participation scholarship complete the following steps by December 1, 2024:

Step 1: Apply for admission to University of Dubuque online at www.dbq.edu/Apply or https://www.commonapp.org/

Step 2: Fill out the Theatre Participation Scholarship Form

Step 3: Send links to examples of your theatre experience to JPKlinebriel@dbq.edu**
- Email Subject Line: (Your Name) Theatre Participation Scholarship
- EX: John Doe Theatre Participation Scholarship

** Post files to a Google Drive, iCloud, YouTube, etc., account and email link

Please share at least one of the following examples of your theatre experience:

  • Photos of involvement with previous high school and/or community productions.
  • A statement reflecting on previous involvement with productions.
  • A link to a video recording of a performance.
  • A video recorded audition of no more than 90 seconds which includes a monologue, song, or combination of both.

* Theatre and musical theatre production performance roles may require an audition and are not guaranteed.
