 1. For people who are not familiar with the term, can you share the roles of a PA?

“Physician assistants hold many roles in the healthcare system. Some aspects of this profession include assessing and diagnosing patients, assisting in surgery, developing treatment plans, and prescribing medication.”

 2. Why did you want to become a PA?

“I've always known I wanted to work in healthcare, but what really drew me to the PA profession was the aspect of practicing with a high degree of autonomy while still working on a healthcare team. I love learning new aspects of science and medicine every day, and getting to use my knowledge to help others makes this such a rewarding profession.”

 3. What advice do you have for aspiring students in the PA program?

“The key to educational success is to work hard but to know your limits and ask for help when you need it. Don't doubt your ability to succeed in this profession if you put in the work.”

 4. What specialty would you like to pursue after graduation?

“I am interested in so many different specialties, but the ones I am most interested in are emergency medicine, family practice, and pediatrics.”

 5. What is your favorite spot on campus? Why?

“My favorite spot on campus is the atrium of the University Science Center, because I love the big windows and relaxing atmosphere.”
