Important Announcement – Student Death

Dear UD Community,
It is with the deepest sadness that I write to you today to inform you of the untimely passing of one of our students, DeShawn Walker. The hearts and prayers of the entire University of Dubuque community are with DeShawn’s family, friends, and loved ones during this profoundly difficult and painful time.
DeShawn came to UD as a student-athlete and was majoring in wellness and exercise science. UD has been in communication with DeShawn’s family and friends to provide support during this time of great sorrow. As we grieve with and for DeShawn’s family, please also know that there are a variety of support services available to all of UD’s students, faculty, and staff.
