Wrestling Stays Hot with Wins Over Concordia (WI) and Cornell

DUBUQUE, Iowa - The University of Dubuque wrestling team pushed their dual winning streak to five after dominant wins over Concordia (WI) and Cornell.
Brendan Hazelton had an impressive day at 133 for the Spartans, coming up with two falls in a combined 63 seconds. Jessy Diaz had one of the more exciting matches of the afternoon. After pinning his Concorida opponent, he trailed 2-0 late in the third period against Cornell's Casey Allen, when he turned Allen on his back and picked up four back points and riding time for the 5-2 win. The 285 spot continues to thrive for UD, against Concordia, Robert Melise came away with a 7-2 victory and against Cornell Darryl Aiello pinned Alex Heisdorffer in 42 seconds to end the day in exciting fashion.
The Spartans host the second weekend of the UD Duals on Jan. 18th when Nebraska Wesleyan and Wheaton come to Dubuque.
