Box Score vs. Nebraska Wesleyan

DUBUQUE, Iowa - The University of Dubuque women's soccer team battled not only their opponent on Saturday night, but a constant rain pummeling the Dubuque area all day. The contest was scoreless until the visiting Nebraska Wesleyan Prairiewolves found the net with less than nine minutes to go in the game from about 25 yards out to put the only score in the net. UD scored earlier in the game only to have an offsides call negate the goal.

A defensive game which saw a combined six shots between the two teams. Jordan Cadena had one shot for the Spartans along with teammate Brooke Brodzinski. UD led in corner kicks 4-2. Keeper Victoria Roethler stopped two shots on goal in her 90 minutes in the net.

The Spartans will face two tough American Rivers Conference opponents next week with a match-up at Wartburg College Knights on Oct. 9 (5 p.m.) before travelling to Pella, Iowa to face the Central College Dutch on Oct. 12 (12 p.m.). UD returns home on homecoming week when they host the Luther College Norse on Oct. 15 (5 p.m.).
