Women's Soccer Earns Program's 200th Win

DUBUQUE, Iowa – The University of Dubuque women’s soccer team battled down pouring rain and UW-Platteville on Wednesday night where they came away with a 2-0 win over the Pioneers to wrap-up non-conference action.

How It Happened
-Brooke Brodzinski had the first great scoring chance on the night in the eighth minute, breaking free from a UW-Platteville defender but the shot sailed wide right.
-Brodzinski once again had a great look, this time coming in the 17th minute, but it hit the right side of the net and the game remained scoreless.
-In the 35th minute, the Brodzinski sent a ball into the box off of a corner, leading to a shot from Carissa Brown, which was saved, but Isabelle Robinson was right there to clean it up and put it back for the first goal of the game.
-Brodzinski kept leading the UD attack, in the opening minute of the second half, she sent a free kick off the crossbar, but once again, she came away empty.
-Brodzinski finally found the back in the 58th minute. Natalie Dienstbach lofted a perfect corner kick into the box, where Brodzinski headed it home to give UD an insurance goal.
-UD dominated possesion for all 90 minutes, controlling the ball 64% of the time.

Milestone
This was the program's 200th victory, all of which were led by Head Coach Jason Berna.
