DUBUQUE, Iowa – The University of Dubuque women’s basketball team got a career scoring effort from Tabria Thomas but it was not enough as the Spartans fell victim to the Luther College Norse, 83-67.

The Spartans got off to a hot start in the second quarter, scoring eight of the first 10 points to grab the lead at 21-20 with 7:10 before halftime.

Tabria Thomas led the charge for the Spartans in the first half, scoring 12 of her 13 first half points in the second quarter.
In the third quarter, there was nothing the Spartans could do to control Luther’s onslaught, as the Norse drilled five, three pointers in the quarter from all ranges on their way to outscoring the Spartans in the third, 31-17. Trailing 67-47 entering the fourth the Spartans put out Luther’s hot shooting, limiting the Norse to just two points over the first five minutes of the quarter to get back within 12 points at 69-57 with 5:04 to play. The Spartan run came to an end and they could only get as close as 11 points for the remainder of the contest.
