Track and Field Prepare for Jack Jennett Open at UNI-Dome

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa - The University of Dubuque Spartans track and field teams will compete in the University of Northern Iowa Jack Jennett Open this weekend, Jan. 23-24, 2020. UNI welcomes fellow Division I programs University of Wisconsin and Illinois State University. Other competitors include: University of Dubuque,Grand View College, Graceland College, Wartburg College, Briar Cliff University, William Penn University, Indian Hills Community College, and Hawkeye Community College.
The meet kicks off at 1 p.m. on Thursday with the multievents. It will resume on Friday (1/24) at 10 a.m. with multievents. Field events will begin at 10:15 a.m. followed by track events at 1 p.m. The event will be held at the UNI-Dome which was built between 1974-1976 and opened Feb. 7, 1976. It serves as a multipurpose stadium today for wrestling tournaments, track and field (eight lanes), softball and football.
The Spartans return to action after both teams placed second at the University of Dubuque Solomon W. Butler Classic held in the Chlapapty Recreation and Wellness Center last weekend.
There is no charge for tickets at the 2020 UNI Jack Jennett Open.
