Spartans Softball Open The Spring Games with Two shutouts and a No Hitter

CLERMONT, Fla. - The University of Dubuque Softball team travels to Florida for spring break action in the competitive 2020 The Spring Games to continue their non-conference season in the warmth of the south. The Spartans have scheduled 10 varsity games and five junior varsity contests.
UD opened their first day with a pair of shutouts highlighted by a no-hitter by Abby McBee. The Spartans Lexi Schmidt held Skidmore to just three hits in a complete game no-hitter. UD would leave six on base and finished the opener with 11 hits. In the second game, McBee struck out nine in the no-hitter, her first of the season. The Spartans scored nine runs on six hits to improve to 4-2 overall.
