How It Happened
-North Park jumped out to the quick lead, scoring in just the eighth minute to put UD in a quick 1-0 hole
-That deficit would not last long as UD would force their way into a penalty kick in the 15th minute, where Joshua Merkel took full advantage of it and put it home to even the match at one all.
-The early goal fest continued just moments later, when after North Park drew a UD foul off of a corner kick, they tucked home another goal in the 20th minute to make it 2-1 in favor of North Park.
-After the Spartans goal, they were only able to get off two more shots in the final 30 minutes of the first half, both of which were block but went into the break trailing by the one goal.
-In the 52nd minute, the North Park goalie came aggressively out of the net, where he would fall after leaping for a ball. Johnny Mueller had an open net from about 25 yards out but his shot went wide left.
-North Park sent a long pass in the 55th minute, where it was deflected and headed by a couple of Vikings before they found the back of the net to push their lead to 3-1.
-The Vikings fourth goal of the contest came in the 63rd minute, North Park lofted a perfect corner kick that curved right into the net for the goal.
-UD attempted at least three shots in each half, but was outshot by a 16-7 for the game.
-The Spartans ended up taking more corner kicks than the Vikings, taking six to their five.
