Men's Soccer Bounce Back After Loss

DUBUQUE, Iowa - The University of Dubuque men's soccer team played well on Saturday, but came up short for the win. Sunday, the Spartans would score a goal in the second half off a penalty kick by Josh Merkel at 74:42. The lone goal would be enough for the 1-0 victory over the College of Saint Scholastica on Sunday.
UD would finish with 17 shots with six being on goal. A trio of Spartans would each collect three shots each: Axel Aaman, Glorie Luwara, and Victor Bremstedt. Brandon White in goal would earn the shutout.
As a team UD is averaging 16.2 shots a game, averaging 1.25 goals a game, and a shot on goal percentage of .400. in 2019.
The Spartans (3-1 overall) play at MSOE on Sept. 14 and at UW-Platteville on Sept. 18 before returning home on Sept. 21 vs. Grinnell College.
