Men's Golf Tied for 5th at Whistling Straits Intercollegiate

FIRST DAY RESULTS

KOHLER, Wis. - The University of Dubuque men's golf team braved British Open like conditions on Monday of the first of two days at the 2019 Whitsling Straits Intercollegiate Men's Golf Tournament. Conditions with temperature and low 50;s with a 25-35 mph wind and rain proved to be a tougher opponent than the golf course.

UD was tied for fifth overall after firing a first round of 349 in the 20-team tournament. Brady Ellis led the Spartans in scoring with a round of 81. Peyton Keeffer finished the day with an 87, Brad Buechel shot an 88, Garvin Paper had a 93 and Alex Staver a 99. Ellis is tied for third overall with 100 linksters making the start.

The final round will begin on Tuesday, Oct. 22 at 9 a.m. with a shotgun start on Whistling Straits.
