Men's Golf Rally After First Round to Finish Tied for 11th

WEST DUNDEE, Ill. - The University of Dubuque men's golf team started day one of the Carthage College Tim Kopka Memorial Invitational with a round of 314. Saturday, UD made a move and would fire a round of 300 to move into a tie at 11th place of the final round of play. The Spartans were led by Alex Staver who finished with rounds of 76-73 to tie for 21st overall.

UD's Kane Hyde tied for 53rd after finishing with a 81-74 (155), Brady Ellis 79-77 (156/T61st), Peyton Keefer 80-76 (156/t61st), and Brad Buechel 79-82 (161/t84th). Twenty one teams and 105 golfers competed in the tournament.

Next up for the Spartans is the Midwest Region Classic at the Eagle Ridge North Course in Galena, Ill. on Sept. 13-14
