Men's Basketball Rally Falls Short Against Beavers

STORM LAKE, Iowa - The University of Dubuque men's basketball team would like to forget the opening half of play on Saturday. The Spartans would make just six shots in the opening 20 minutes of action, while the host Buena Vista Beavers made 14 shots and led at the break 41-17. UD would find their mojo in the secodn half after scoring 53 points, but the half time defecit was just too much to overcome in the 70-81 loss on the road.
UD's Peter Ragen would be the Spartans lone double-digit scorer and he finished with 23 points and six rebounds. The Spartans would shoot over 60% in the second half and finished the night making 23-52 shot attempts (44.2%), 8-24 from the three point area (33.3%), and 16-23 from the free throw line (69.9%).
UD will return home after playing on the road the past two weeks and will host the Loras College Duhawks on Wednesday, April 12 at 7:30 p.m. for the "Blue Out" game featured on Mediacom. UD will continue their home games when the Luther College Norse journey to Dubuque on Saturday, Feb. 15 at 4 p.m. The Spartans will plat at Coe College on Wednesday, Feb. 19 at 7:30 p.m. The final regular season American Rivers Conference match-up will be on senior day on Feb. 25 against Wartburg College at 4 p.m.
