Men's Basketball Quiet Storm in Victory

DUBUQUE, Iowa - The University of Dubuque men's basketball remained in the top half of the American Rivers Conference after Saturday. The Spartans led for over 37 minutes and held the visiting Simpson College Storm in check for most of the game. The SPartans would win the league contest 93-83. The Spartans would win the league contest 93-83 and take the series 2-0 over the Storm in 2019-20.

Peter Ragen would lead the Spartans offense with 23 points after sinking 7-14 shots from the field. Luke Davis III would lead the bench players by finishing with 19 points and leading the rebounding with nine. Mitch Burger added 14 points and Keegan Zimmerman ended with 11 points. UD out rebounded the Storm 39-33.

Both teams shot the ball well, UD made 30-61 shot attempts (49.2%) and the Storm sank 27-56 attempts (48.2%). Both squads journeyed to the free throw line over 30 times and both teams made 24 free throws after combining for 51 fouls.

The Spartans enjoy an off day in the conference on Wednesday and will return to action on Sat. Feb. 1 on the road at Nebraska Wesleyan University in Lincoln, Neb. at 4 p.m.
