Box Score vs. Coe College

DUBUQUE, Iowa - The University of Dubuque football would have to wait for weather to move through the Dubuque area on Saturday, but a 65 minutes rain and lightning delay didn't dampen the sprits of fans. UD rallied from behind to capture their first American Rivers Conference win with a 20-14 victory on Chalmers Field.

The Spartans scored the only points in the first period off a 10 yard run by freshman Kordell Stillmunkes to enter halftime with a 7-0 lead. The third period belonged to the Kohawks who rallied to score twice and take their first lead in the game 14-7. Stillmunkes scored on a five yard run with :43 seconds left in the third to tie the game at 14-14. UD would score early in the final period on a five yard pass to A.J. Hunter, but the extra point would be missed in the gusty winds of the south goal with 10:32 left. The Kohawks would drive twice late in the game only to have the Spartans defense stop their march and collect the victory.

Stillumkes led all rushers in the game with 34 carries for 101 yards. Sean Duffy finished with 13-22 passing with 120 yards. Jis favorited targets were Kody Reimer who caught three passes for 54 yards and Hunter who finished with three grabs for 16 yards.

Defensively Colton Pederson led in tackles with 11, Chad Marsh had eight tackles, and Blaze Barista finished with four pass break-ups.

The rough A-R-C schedule doesn't relent as the Spartans travel to face Central College in Pella next week, Oct. 12 at 1 p.m. The following week, UD will host the Loras College Duhawks for Homecoming 2019 at 2 p.m. on Chalmers Field.
