Women's Golf Win Weather Shortened Monmouth Invite

MONMOUTH, Ill. - The University of Dubuque women's golf team returned to their fall form by winning the Monmouth College Fighting Scots Invitational on Saturday with a score of 346 on the Gibson Woods course. Originally planned as a two-day meet, it was shortened to one round on Saturday, April 13 after inclement weather on Friday. The Spartans won by 11 strokes over second place Augustana.

Daniela Miranda won the playoff for medalist honors after she finished with a round of 82. UD's Madison Bowers placed fourth after firing an 85, Kaylee O'Donnell tied for 8th with an 89, Megan Gille tied for 10th with a round of 90 along with teammate Hannah Hamann, Madeline Sturm tied for 13th with a 91, and Caroline Giorgi finished with a 94 for a tie for 18th place.

Women's golf will next compete in the UD-Whitewater Spring Fling held on Good Friday, April 19 and Saturday, April 20 at the Beloit Club.
