Men's Basketball Outscored in Second Half by Simpson

INDIANOLA, Iowa - The University of Dubuque men's basketball lost their fourth consecutive game, all in the past seven days. The Spartans were defeated on Saturday afternoon by a 62-75 margin to the Simpson College Storm. 

The offensive was led by Marcus McDaniel who ended the day with 21 points. Mitch Burger added 10 points off the bench and teammate Michael Williams collected nine rebounds. UD made 25-67 shots from the field (37.3%), 8-26 from the three point area (30.8%), and 4-12 at the free throw line (33.3%). The two teams tied in rebounding with 35-35. 

UD falls to 11-9 overall and 3-7 in league action. The Spartans will face the Loras College Duhawks on their home court on Wednesday, Jan. 30. The Duhawks knocked off the #1-ranked and previously unbeaten Nebraska Wesleyan University Prairie Wolves at home on Saturday. The Spartans won on Jon Davison Court in Stoltz Sports Center on Nov. 28 by a 78-73 margin. The Spartans had three starters in double figures: McDaniel with 20 points, Avery Butler had 14 points, and Peter Ragen added in 11 points.
