Bailey Heads to NCAA DIII Wrestling Championships

ROANOKE, Va. – Tevin Bailey of the UD wrestling team will wrestle in the NCAA Division III National Championships this weekend in Roanoke, Virginia in the 184 pound weight class.

The NCAA Division III National Championships are being hosted by Ferrum College at the Berglund Center and action will get underway Friday, March 8th and will continue through Saturday, March 9th. Tevin Bailey is the first Spartan to qualify for the national championships since Quincy Kalkbrenner qualified in 2017.

Bailey will wrestle in a pig tail match to get into the body of the bracket. He will go up against the eighth seeded Soloman Nielsen from Augsburg in the Friday morning session to

A total of 180 participants will compete in the championships. Student-athletes qualified for the championship by placing top-three in their respective weight classes at one of the six NCAA regional tournaments held on Feb. 22, 23 and 24.
