The Second City to Perform at Heritage Center

DUBUQUE, Iowa – The legendary Chicago-based sketch and improve comedy group The Second City will perform as part of University of Dubuque’s fifth anniversary Live at Heritage Center Performing Arts Series on Tuesday, March 6, at 7:30 p.m. in John and Alice Butler Hall. The Second City’s “Look Both Ways Before Talking” performance replaces the formerly scheduled PUPPET UP! – UNCENSORED by Henson Alternative. Organizers of PUPPET UP! canceled their tour of the upper Midwest region.

The Second City’s “Look Both Ways Before Talking” dives into touchy subjects that you’ve thought about but are too afraid to say out loud. Edgy, thought-provoking, and spectacularly funny​,​ The Second City is celebrating nearly six decades of producing cutting-edge satirical revues and launching the careers of generation after generation of comedy’s best and brightest such as Tina Fey, Stephen Colbert, Steve Carell, Gilda Radner, Bill Murray, Chris Farley, Dan Aykroyd, Mike Myers, and Amy Poehler.

Come witness the trademark improvisation and see where it all began during this special one-night only engagement. This show contains PG-13 content suitable for mature audiences only.

A free preshow CyberCafé Knapp Stage concert from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. featuring singer/songwriter Ace Jones, of Marion, Iowa, precedes the performance.
