Live at Heritage Center presents Dallas Brass

The University of Dubuque’s Heritage Center continues its 2nd annual Live at Heritage Center Performing Arts Series with the Dallas Brass “American Musical Journey”, on Saturday, February 21 at 7:30 p.m. The Dallas Brass repertoire includes classical, Dixieland, swing, Broadway, Hollywood, and patriotic music. The UD Wind Ensemble will be featured as special guest under the direction of Professor Nicholas Bratcher.

African Heritage Week 2015

February 9-13, 2015 will mark the third annual African Heritage Week at the University of Dubuque. The week-long cultural experience, sponsored by the University's Office of Multicultural Student Engagement, will showcase the history, experiences, and culture throughout the African diaspora. This year’s theme will focus on dissecting the concept of “whiteness” and its effect on blacks throughout the diaspora historically and presently. Week-night events are free and open to the public.

Wrestling Splits at Wheaton

The University of Dubuque wrestling team captured a dual meet win over Wheaton College 36-12, but lost to UW-La Crosse 3-30 on Saturday. Freshman Joey Cisneros was the lone Spartan to finish 2-0 after collecting a slim 5-4 decision over Ryan Weinmann of UW-L and won by a 10-4 decision over Carlos Fuentez of Wheaton.

Winters Leads Men’s Track & Field at Solomon W. Butler Classic

Freshman Ernest Winters won the 200 meters with the 6th-best time in the nation and finished runner-up in the 55 meters in pacing the University of Dubuque men’s track & field team to a fourth-place finish at the Solomon W. Butler Classic on Saturday afternoon.

The University of Dubuque men's basketball team led by a point at halftime 46-45, but would be out scored in the final 20 minutes 40-32 as they dropped a road conference contest on Saturday afternoon to the Buena Vista University Beavers 78-85. The Beavers finished with four out of five starers in double digit scoring despite the Spartans holding the lead for 21:07.

University of Dubuque to Develop Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies

President Jeffrey F. Bullock announced today the development of a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies at the University of Dubuque. Preparation for entry into accreditation by the Physician Assistant accrediting body, ARC-PA is now in progress. The University of Dubuque men's basketball team sank 5-6 free throws in the final 33 seconds to capture a hard fought Iowa Conference road victory over the Luther College Norse 68-65. Andre Norris became the 23rd Spartan to eclipse the 1000-point career mark (1,025 points) after he led the Spartans with a game high 31 points and 11 rebounds. It was the second time Norris has scored over 30 points in 2014-15.
