Women's Soccer Ranked #5 North Region, Improve to 3-0

DUBUQUE, Iowa - The University of Dubuque women's soccer team received their highest ranking ever with a #5 in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America Continental Tire NCAA Division III Women's North Region Poll. The Iowa Conference has three women's teams ranked in the Top-8 this week. The Spartans improved to 3-0 on the season with a 4-2 victory over North Park University on Wednesday night. 

The Spartans jumped out to an early halftime lead 4-1 after Megan Siepler scored at 4:13 of the first half off an assist by Katie Lynn from 10 yards out. Lynn added two more goals by halftime at 26:14 and 32:32 to extend the Spartans to a two goals before Siepler tucked one in from bottom left at 43:49 to extend the lead to three goals. A late goal by North Park at 83:48 sliced the Spartan lead to 4-2. 

Kelsey Graefen, Liz Frazier, and Riley Mayer all garnered assists in the victory. The Spartans out shot the hosts 24-12 and held a advantage in shots on goal 14-8. 

This week's Iowa Conference Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week, Tiffany Duncan, earned six saves and pushed her record to 3-0 in the goal.
