Four Second Half Goals Propel Spartans to Dominant Win

APPLETON, Wis. – Better late than never for the University of Dubuque women’s soccer team as they utilize a four-goal flurry in the second half to defeat Lawrence University, 4-0.

After a scoreless first half in which UD outshot Lawrence, 9-3, Melanie Prudhomme decided to put the Spartans on the board with the first of her two goals coming in the 60th minute. She would later torch the net in the 78th minute as well. The head instigator and Prudhomme’s partner-in-crime was Kyleigh McLaughlin whose hat trick of assists got the Spartans rolling.

McLaughlin tallied assist number three as Kelsey Graefen sealed the deal in the 82nd minute. Liz Frazier added the final insurance goal in the final minute.

With the help of Megan Siepler who tallied a team-high six shots, including four on goal, the Spartans outshot Lawrence 18-3 in the second half and 27-6 for the game.

The Spartans take their talents to Chicago, lll. to oppose North Park College next Wednesday, September 3rd.
