The Spartans found themselves down early with Buena Vista scoring two in the first and one in the third to take a 3-0 lead through three innings. UD threatened for a possible big inning in the top of the fourth after back-to-back singles by Fogel and Daniel Casanova (Lake Tapps, Wash./Auburn Riverside) to start the inning. Austin McWhite (Orlando, Fla./Wekiva) followed with a deep fly ball to centerfield that was caught but allowed Fogel and Casanova to advance to second and third with one out. A walk by Vince Parisi (Tinley Park, Ill./Andrew) loaded the bases for game one starting pitcher Garst. With the BV infield back at double play depth, Garst hit a chopper to the third baseman who attempted to turn the double play retiring Parisi at second but Garst beat the throw at first for the RBI fielders choice. Buena Vista scored a run in the bottom of the fourth and two in the sixth for a 6-1 lead.

UD manufactured a run in the seventh with Parisi leading off the inning with a double to right center. A groundout by Garst moved Parisi to third for Michael Salazar (Scottsdale, Ariz./Desert Mountain). Salazar hit a deep fly ball to center field for the sacrifice fly to score Parisi for the second Spartans run of the game.

Harley Miller (Oak Lawn, Ill./Richards) was the losing pitcher in game two working 5.2 innings with six runs (three-earned) on eight hits and three strikeouts. The UD defense commited six errors in game two allowing four unearned runs to score.

Casanova finished 2-4 while Eddie Pablo (Yelm, Wash./Yelm) hit his team high ninth double of the year.
