Track and Field Improve Rankings
Mar 6, 2015
NEW ORLEANS, La. – The penultimate computer rankings of the 2015 NCAA Division III indoor track & field season featured a familiar set of schools at the top, some minor reshuffling in the middle, and new faces at the bottom. The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) released the rankings on Tuesday, March 3. The University of Dubuque men's and women's team moved up the rankings after strong performances in the 2015 Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference championships. The Spartans ranked 33rd in last rankings, leapt to #19 in the nation for the men's program highest ranking in school history.
In Regional USTFCCCA rankings the men's squad is ranked #3 and the women are ranked #7 in the Central Region rankings. UD will travel to compete in two meets this weekend in attempts to improve or qualify for the 2015 NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field National Championships in Winston-Salem, N.C. on March 13-14. Friday, March 6 the Spartans will travel to UW-Platteville's Last Chance Meet which starts at 4:00 p.m., and a limited number of student-athletes will make the drive north to UW-Stevens Point Last Chance Meet on Saturday, March 7 at 10:30 a.m.
