DUBUQUE, Iowa - Entering Monday night's Iowa Conference schedule, two teams were unblemished in league play, a perfect 5-0. Once the dust settled at the end of the evening, not a team in the Iowa Conference had a perfect league mark. The University of Dubuque men's basketball team did their part by clawing their way back into the game and capturing the 76-73 overtime victory on Jan Davison Court over the Luther College Norse.

The Spartans captured the game, but not without some late game heroics by junior guard Chris Frazier. His last shot as UD trailed by three points found the bottom of the net with under four seconds to go, despite being off balance and from around 25 feet from the right side of the basket which tied the game at 70-70.

UD opened a a five point lead in overtime as the Spartans out rebounded the visiting Norse after they missed their first four shot attempts in OT and held on for the slim 76-73 win. Frazier finished with 24 points and was 6-13 from the three point arc and left the game early after being called for his fifth foul with :51 seconds to go.

Andre Norris finished with 14 points which included a dunk which brought the fans to their feet and cut the Norse to within a basket late in regulation. Derek Griffin added 13 points and Mitch Michaelis finished with 11 points and seven rebounds. A trio of Spartans tied for the lead in rebounding: Michaelis, Miles Hookstead, and Jordan Townsend.
