Spartans Win 57-0 in Home Opener

DUBUQUE, IOWA - The University of Dubuque Wrestling team posted the most lopsided victory in school history with a 57-0 victory over Simpson College. The Spartans dominated the home opener winnings six matches by fall, three by forfeit, and one by decision. Ryan Warczynski (Minooka, Ill./Minooka), ranked #6 by NWCA, recorded the quickest fall of the day earning the takedown just 52 seconds into his match at 157 lbs. Beginning at 157 lbs with Warczynski, UD earned five straight pins with Josesph Kubica (Lake Park, Ill./Lake Park), Derek Mizaur (Sherrard, Ill./Sherrard), Logan Einerson (Lodi, Wis./Lodi), and Nate Cristion (Port Angeles, Wash./Port Angeles) all earning falls. Chris Sokol (Lodi, Wis.Lodi) also earned a victory by fall at 133 lbs.
