Frazier Leads Spartans to 8-1 Record

DUBUQUE, Iowa - The University of Dubuque men's basketball team hosted the Blackburn College Beavers (0-8) on Saturday afternoon and strolled to a 89-40 win in Stoltz Sports Center.

UD was led in scoring once again by the team's leader, Chris Frazier who finished with 15 points in just 16 minutes of action. Frazier has scored 141 points in nine games and leads the Spartans with a 15.7 average. Brandon Ferguson collected three steals and added 11 points as teammates Mitch Michaelis and Caleb Konieczny both would finish with 10 points off the bench. Jordan Townsend led the rebounding with five and was a perfect 2-2 from beyond the three point arc.

The Spartans shot 50% from the field (32-64 attempts) and sank 10-24 three point attempts (41.7%). UD's defense forced the visiting Beavers into committing 27 turnovers. The Spartans scored 34 points off their mistakes and would finish the afternoon scoring 36 points in the paint. UD's bench out scored the Beavers 45-29.

The Spartans will travel to Marian College in Fond du Lac, Wis., on Dec. 15 with tip-off slated for 5:00 p.m. The contest will be the final game before the Spartans take a break for the Christmas holiday. The Spartans return to action on Dec. 28 when they travel to play at Monmouth College, 5:00 p.m. tip-off.
