Odegard Ties for First, Spartans Finish Second at Elmhurst

OAK BROOK, ILLINOIS – The University of Dubuque Men’s Golf team continued its strong fall season with a second place finish at the Elmhurst College Invite on Thursday. Leading the Spartans with an even par, 72 was Martin Odegard (Dubuque, Iowa/Hempstead). Odegard finished in a four way tie for first place in the one round tournament.
The Spartans Mitchell Sobotta (Arcadia, Wis./Arcadia) and Eric Wolfe (Cuba City, Wis./Cuba City) each finished the day with +1 over par (73), good for a fifth place tie. Rounding out the scoring for Dubuque Blue was Chance Manternach (Monticello, Iowa/Monticello) with a +11 and Josh Schuberg (Elburn, Ill./Kaneland) at +15. UD Blue finished with a team score of 301 (+13 over par).
Univ. of Dubuque White finished in ninth place with a 320 team score. Matt Allen (Galena, Ill./Galena) and Anders Haukoos (Lakeville, Minn./Lakeville) tied for 24th with a +6 over par 78 to lead the White team.
UP NEXT: The Spartans will play in their last tournament of the 2012 Fall Season on October 7th and 8th at the Viterbo Invite at the Onalaska Country Club.
