KENOSHA, WISCONSIN – The University of Dubuque Women’s Soccer team continued its difficult non-conference schedule with a 1-0 loss to Carthage on Tuesday night. Having picked up two road wins already this season, the Spartans will look to show that they have what it takes to win on the road when they open Iowa Conference action on the road at Wartburg on September 22nd.  UD is 2-4-1 overall and 2-2 on the road this season.

The offensive leaders for the Spartans were Megan Strawn (Carol Stream, Ill./Glenbard North) with three shots on goal and Alexandra Watkins (Northbrook, Ill./Glenbrook North) with five shots.

Goalkeeper Chelsea Hawkins (Maryville Heights, Mo./Pattonville) finished the game with four saves and one goal allowed in 90 minutes of action.

The Spartans finished with ten total shots, five of which were on goal.

UP NEXT: UD will travel to Waverly, Iowa on Saturday, September 22nd to take on the Wartburg College Knights (5-1-2).  Game time is 1:00.
